Book Club Participation Guidelines

To engage in meaningful, transparent, and inclusive dialogue, members of the first book club meeting developed a series of ground rules that all participants agreed to follow during the conversation.

The following is a non-exhaustive working list of participation guidelines:

  • Treat people with respect
  • Provide others with the benefit of the doubt
  • Be mindful of your input (be conscise, timely in response, and make space)
  • Recognize everyone's input is valuable
  • Use "I" statements
  • Call people "in" not "out"
